Don't Let Greenwashing Sweep You Away
Greenwashing (green· wash· ing) | the act or practice of making a product, policy, activity, etc. appear to be more environmentally friendly or less environmentally damaging than it really is.
While we value transparency in our sustainability pursuits above all else, other "eco-friendly" products on the market may not be as forthcoming. Here's how to spot when a company is using environmental advocacy as a marketing tool without actually walking the walk:
They give lots of attention to eco-education while providing very little info on how their product is part of the solution and not part of the problem.
They use "green" words and imagery with no backing. especially if there's an "*".
They claim to be leaders in green spaces, but are not certified by recognized third-parties. Bubble Paper's certifications include OCC-E.
They say they are "working on" sustainability, without specifying tangible goals and results. See Bubble Paper's sustainability goals below.
One aspect of their product may be sustainable, but not the entire product lifecycle. Bubble Paper is made in America with sustainably-sourced materials, ships to customers at 9x the capacity of our competitors, and is one-step recyclable and biodegradable after use.
Sustainability
Bubble Paper is a forward-facing company that has set out to define the future of packaging. Products in our Bubble Paper family provide the option to recycle curbside and are biodegradable.
Bubble Paper products are formed with natural Kraft paper that started its journey in sustainably managed forests. We source our materials and have designed the Bubble Paper production process to be as environmentally friendly as possible, using naturally-derived plant based materials and creating the minimum possible process waste. Our company believes that the future must be shaped by Triple Bottom Line best practices. In addition to our own efforts, we work with suppliers who provide the highest level of transparency towards the harvesting of natural resources and progress made in their commitments to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
